Remember...you like your job!
Sam the Cooking Guy
I love this crazy fool. I wish you could all watch Sam. He has a local cooking show in San Diego, where he broadcasts out of his red kitchen, right up the street from Dusty and I live in Carmel Valley. It a hot mess and so funny… plus the food always looks amazing. Take a look at his website and watch some of his demonstrations. I’ve been trying to sign up for one of his cooking classes but they are all booked up until May. I also posted one of his recipes that I’ve made, it was absolutely wonderful.
www.thecookingguy.com
· 1 Pound asparagus, cut into 1" pieces
· 8-10 slices of bacon or 'ready crisp' bacon, cut into 1" pieces
· 1/2 pound shitake mushrooms, thinly sliced
· 1 pound fettuccine
· 2 tablespoons fresh thyme, finely chopped
· Olive oil
1 Sauté asparagus in olive oil until half way tender
2 Add shitakes and sauté until softened
3 Add bacon and thyme and cook for about 2 minutes
4 Cook the pasta according to package directions
5 Drain pasta and mix with the asparagus, bacon, mushrooms and thyme in a large bowl.
Drizzle with a little olive oil, season with salt & pepper to taste and serve

ONE CENTEMETER DILATED!!
Dusty and I had a doctor’s appointment today and I am officially one centimeter dilated. Basically that means that I could go into labor at any time. I am 38 weeks and 3 days along so she is considered full term. I wish I could have taken a picture of Dustys “holy shit face” or my expression of extreme terror but these pictures of my growing fat face will have to do. The first picture is of me at 33 weeks, the second is 38 weeks, and the third is of Lucy since she is such a diva.
Taylors nursery
Finally, pictures of the nursery! The room is such an odd shape that it is hard to get pictures that show how everything comes together, but this should give you an idea. The only thing you can’t see is the wall above the crib, we have a little bird cage hanging in the corner over an end table. We are also waiting to hang a couple more pictures and I need to buy some ribbon for the drapery tie backs.
As you can see this is a little more girly than I had initially planned… which drives me crazy, but I do love the room.

Thanks a lot Caitlin!
Thank you Bradley {and Ashley}
You may image my suprise when Bradley handed me this on our way to work last thursday.
{Turns out Ashley sent him the blog}
What Bradley told me next was a little conversation that went like this -
Bradley: Thanks for the heads up, what size ring does she wear?
Ashley: I don't know - I'd get the biggest size they have. She has REALLY fat fingers!
{Brad was wise enough to call my mom}

Perfect Lighting
Take a look at this lighting fixture! This garland shade light is my new obsession and for only 80 dollars I think we should all own one. I will put one in Taylors room, Allie can put one above her bed in her dinning room/bedrooom.
The story....
The lamp is based off of Dutch Designer Boontji's work which can be found at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.
Where it find it...
Why I love it....
Well, look at it! Plus the base comes with diffrent clips that are flexible so that you can create the size and shape of your choice.
Potential problem....
UMMM hello, this is a dust trap! But worth the extra effort.
